Pinnie Therapy

I love pincushions! They're like little works of art!! Today was the meeting for Modern Fabric Group Therapy! It's run by the talented Karen Gray at The Little General. And we had a pinnie swap!! I made these!

20130410-173112.jpgYou might be thinking, why did she make two?? Well, one was for one of my buddies in MFGT. Pam is just delightful and is one of those people with a generous spirit. I had helped her with her double wedding ring quilt a few months back. And she had told me how her pins were dull. I suggested she get a pincushion with crushed walnut shells. They're nice because they're weighty and the walnut shells sharpen the pins! So I made her a little present full of crushed walnut shells:)This one was for the swap! I used a few aqua and red prints. I bought this mini rac a few months ago and was just waiting for the perfect project!

20130410-173138.jpgI'm thrilled to report that my good friend Sue got it! We did a random draw. I got the idea to sew ric rac in as a "cording" from the book Liberty Love! Such a great idea!! If you don't have that book, it's a great one.

20130410-173153.jpgFor Pam's, I used an Anna Griffin vintage scissor fabric. It's my current most favorite fabric!

20130410-173219.jpgAnd more ric rac!!

20130410-173226.jpgAnd I got this AMAZING one from Patsy!! I LOVE IT! There were lots of really cool ones! Mini churn dash blocks, cathedral windows, appliqué!!
