North Carolina Bound: Day 9!
Sunday was the final day of the trip! Sad to see it end, but such an amazing trip. Eleven states and 2900+ miles. Quite the adventure!
We started the day at the Holiday Inn Express Louisville. They had a duck!
We cruised through Kentucky! It is beautiful country. This is a thoroughbred retirement farm.
Kentucky is just really pretty. It was one of my favorites:)
And we entered West Virginia!!
There were signs to a quilt shop!! They were closed:(
The Capital! It's gorgeous with the gold dome.
And the bridge out of town. Please excuse the untimely bug death on the windshield.
Every turn was more beautiful than the last! Absolutely stunning views!!
We stopped for gas and had a Deliverance moment.
We went to Tamerac! It's a cool building full of artisans and crafts made by West Virginians!! Definitely worth a stop:)
And we drive through Virginia; it's possible I was sleeping...And cute little Maggie was there to greet Gail! She was really excited!! (or so I'm told!)
My exit!!! Did a downpour really start 20 minutes from home?! We have had great weather minus the rain at the beginning of the trip.
This song came on my iPod as I turned onto my street:)
And someone hopped into the car! Why hello there little man:)
The whole trip was an absolute blast. I hope you've enjoyed riding along with me. Gail has been the absolute best travel partner! I cannot thank her enough:) We have laughed across eleven states!!xo LC
