The Big 3-5 for Olfa GIVEAWAY
Olfa rotary cutters are turning thirty-five this year!! Interestingly, I am also thirty-five. Obviously I would be the exact age of perhaps the most revolutionary quilting notion ever. ;) To celebrate, Olfa sent me this great package! Are we celebrating my birthday or theirs? You be the judge. It included a small rotary, a rotating 12" mat and a 6 1/2" ruler with frosted advantage. Plus an adorable little rotary pin. These pins were all the rage at Quilt Market!I'd not used frosted advantage before. (It's newish!) It's frosted to make the lines easier to see on light and dark fabrics. An added bonus is that it doesn't slide. At all. As in doesn't budge. Brilliant!
I immediately unwrapped all the packages to play! Obviously:)
Olfa had asked for a 6 1/2" block to celebrate their birthday. The only requirement was that I had to use yellow. If there is one color that is limited in my stash, it's yellow. But I did find all these Olfa yellows to consider. Black and white seemed like the best coordinate.
I chose the Pez fabric and got to cutting with my new rotary set!
The dotted lines on the half inch lines are awesome! They're easy to see and I prefer dotted lines because I don't like the fabric to be crooked under the line and have a slight tilt. All the markings are really nice on this ruler; I can tell it's going to become a favorite!!
I cut rows of the yellow Pez. I did rows of threes and fives since they're turning the big 3-5!
I used this adorable little heart print from Dear Stella since I LOVE Olfa!
I added black and white dots. I cut these in threes and fives as well! Luckily the math worked out on all that. My block is finished!
Do you want this adorable box with the same goodies to come to your house? It's GIVEAWAY time!
