A Scrapalicious Sewing Month

National Sewing Month Special GuestIt's National Sewing month and Heather over at The Sewing Loft has put together an awesome series of posts about scrap sewing. Today is my stop on her hop and I decided to focus on my favorite scraps...Liberty! In case you're not familiar, Liberty of London makes the most delicious lawn weight fabric. It's been a staple in sewing rooms for years and the prints are both vintage and modern. The fabric is notoriously pricey, so I am careful to save every last scrap.IMG_3563I wrote a tutorial about making scrappy Liberty over on Ellison Lane which you can see here. I used that method to make 3/4" finished squares on this panel. Because the prints are busy and small, I don't worry too much about perfect intersections.clutched4A scrappy panel is a great use for my Clutched pattern! The Clutched PDF is on sale for only $8 through Friday in honor of National Sewing Month!clutched3I used Essex Linen for the back and added my adorable new labels (courtesy of a contest from CustomLabels4U).clutched1I think that making just the front or an accent panel scrappy actually makes it stand out more than when it's allover scrappy! Having something to set off the scrappy area makes it look great!clutched2xo LC
