Lucky Thirteen
I've long admired the amazing work in the Doll Quilt Swap on Flickr. The quilts are between 9x9" and 20x20". And I think most end up as wall hangings! And they're all just amazing- tons of details, intricate quilting and tiny piecing! Well, I was lucky enough to get into round 13!!My partner said she liked bright neutrals/low volume with a spot of saturated color. I decided to practice my hexie making skills with some low volume fabrics.
Then I hand stitched the hexies together! I chose fabrics with spots of bright color.
And I used my favorite Chicopee print for a bright frame to the hexies.
And some text from Mama Said Sew for the background!
And then the quilting began! I did a few chevron lines to get started! Added loops through the hexies.
And here's the finished product!!
I CANNOT wait to receive mine! There are so many that I want!!UPDATE! Mine just arrived!! Thank you so much to the talented Betsy Lynn! It's a gorgeous scrappy trip along! Made with all Denyse Schmidt!!
The hand quilting is exquisite!! I'm in love! Lucky lucky me:)
And I ADORE the label!! It's perfect:)
