Nebraska Bound: Day 2!
After a delicious breakfast in Crossville, (have you had the cinnamon rolls at Holiday Inn Express?!) we headed towards Nashville. It was raining...
Thankfully it finally stopped raining and we saw lots of this.
And got really excited when we saw this!!
When we exited, we saw this!!! But they were closed:(
Paducah is pretty cute! They have these great murals by the river.
Eleanor Burns was closed too:(
We ate at Shandies! It was open:) And yummy!
Apparently Paducah cost $5...seems like a good deal.
Then it was time for THE MUSEUM! There are not words!! Stop whatever you are doing and drive immediately to Paducah! Every single quilt was amazing. Amazing.
No photography allowed:( But I did take a picture of this great stained glass window in the lobby! Seriously though, you must go...it was the experience of a lifetime.
As we left Paducah, Gail & I had another life altering experience. We drove across this death trap bridge. The whole thing was grated so the car swayed. It was crazy. As luck would have it, Gail was driving:)
Just after the bridge, we entered Illinois! State number four:)
Beautiful clouds, but luckily no rain!
We headed into St Louis! I spy an arch...
So we stopped. It was impressive. No time to go up, but the view from the ground was great!!
That faint outline in the water by the tent is the observation deck. It was quite flooded.
A gorgeous sunset! We were trying to make it close to Kansas City to spend the night!
We enjoyed some wine in Boonville, MO to cap off the day!
