A Day at the (Bluebird) Park
Have y'all seen Kate & Birdie Paper Co's new line of fabric? Their first line was Winter's Lane which I swooned with. The second line is called Bluebird Park and it's adorable! There are birds, bunnies and bikes involved. And cute hedgies!!I'm teaching the Taffy quilt (a pattern by Jaybird Quilts) next quarter at Sewingly Yours so I decided to use Bluebird Park for my sample. Fabric choice on this quilt is quite important or you'll lose the pattern.I used the adorable bikes and birdies for my backing! This is the year of FMQ for me, so I really tried to step it up! I used infinities, loops and shells with the quilting enhancing the piecing.I used the best thread for this quilt. I'm not usually a variegated gal, but I've fallen in love with this Aurifil variegated. It's color number 4060. It varies from creams to greys to taupes. And it's perfect for all quilting projects!I love the subtle color change in the quilting!I need to have another photo shoot with this quilt because I really love it! But thanks to Sue for being my holder in the Sewingly Yours parking lot:)xo LC
