A Whole Lotta Swapping Going On
There are lots of swaps that are wrapping up before the holiday rush...so I have been a sewing fool! For the Modernista Swap on Flickr, my partner was I'm Fellin' Crafty. Her work is really amazing, so I was a bit intimidated. I made her some potholders as she requested:) This was my first adventure with the insulated batting; it is very cool! I have not actually picked up a pot with it, but it seems legit. I'll keep you posted on that. And I was all set to make her some wonky star placemats (because potholders didn't seem like enough:) But when I posted my O' Christmas Tree Table Runner, she seemed to really like it!
She didn't ask for seasonal, but I took a chance! I'm so happy that she is happy:) I love making people things and it is even better when you know they love and appreciate it! Her blogpost was very sweet!!And while we are on the appreciation train, check out my loot!! My dining room table is really small. Actually right now it's nonexistent; it's in storage! But that's beside the point. Krista made me two really awesome mini table mats. The first is Halloween on one side and Christmas on the other. Very clever! The other is a gorgeous star made of red and aqua with my favorite grey text background. And lots of bonus presents:) Thanks Krista!
I'm also in two pincushion swaps! The first was with the Triad Modern Quilt Guild. I made this little button jar pincushion. My partner, Colleen, loves mug rugs, so I made her pincushion a mug rug. She likes Melody Miller fabric, so I cut into the good stuff.
And I got this cutie from Roxanne!
I'm also in The Fab Little Pincushion Swap! This little guy is en route overseas to his new home!
I got the gorgeous wool from The Little General! Gina has 69 colors; I had trouble deciding!! It was really nice to work with. I hope my partner is happy! She loves nature, so I think she'll like Mr. Birdie. I can't wait for my little pinnie to arrive!Have y'all seen all the granny squares cropping up everywhere?! They're so pretty and have a great vintage/scrappy/modern feel. So naturally a Flickr group started to swap these babies. And naturally, I had to join:) They FINALLY arrived and I've layed out my quilt. I'm in love!br />
Lastly, I wanted to let everyone know, I've started a Flickr group for things made with May Chappell patterns and tutorials! Tell your friends, family, dogs, anyone that'll listen:) There might be random prizes involved!Happy Sewing!!xo LC
