Masks, Straps & Ties TUTORIAL

Stitchers all across the country and world are banding together to make masks for the medical community. These masks are being requested due to a world wide shortage of medical PPE supplies. If you're interested, find a local group and join in. If you're having trouble finding someone locally, please send me a message as my area has a huge need.

There are tons of tutorials out there! There are versions with elastic and ties. There are options for filters and flannel lining. Doctors are posting what they love and nurses are making awesome tutorials. People with larger heads are asking for longer ties and petite headed folk are pleading for another style. Basically, much like the people of the world, masks in every shape, size and design are needed. So make what you feel comfortable with. Based on the need currently seen, anything you can do, will help! So get stitching!

As the sewists sprang into action, the elastic quickly vanished from the shelves. So I partnered with Amy at Diary of a Quilter to quickly share some great options for making ties and straps.

I also posted my mask making method to my Instagram highlights. You can check it out here or below.

Please, if you want to help and don't know what to do, just start stitching! Every single sewist can help!
